Creating Your Wellness Team

Hello everyone,

Well, we are slowly starting our approach towards the December holidays. Some of you may already be making plans and visions for the upcoming year. In terms of your health goals, some of you may be looking for newer and better ways to stay healthy and well. You may be thinking of goals like losing that excess weight, starting an exercise routine, decreasing your dependency on medications, slowing the aging process, getting out of pain, etc. Whatever your goal may be we suggest that, this year, you consider forming, a wellness team to support you in your endeavors. Although this may be a new concept to some of you, this is the same process that many athletes use to condition themselves to be at their best. In fact, Tiger Woods was known to have three coaches to help him work on different aspects of his game. By creating your own entourage of wellness care providers, you will have specialized professionals who can help you promote and enhance different aspects of your health so that you can be at your best.

Naturally, your wellness team will need a wellness captain. Someone who has a high level of education in the subjects of anatomy, physiology, pathology and wellness. It should be someone who is knowledgeable in creating a wellness lifestyle and will inspire you to keep accountable through providing a variety of tools, resources and providing referrals to wellness specialist to help you attain the level of health you’ve always wanted. Although we may be biased, we feel that Chiropractors are best suited for this position and here are a 5 reasons why you should consider a Chiropractor as the captain of your wellness team:

1) They have education comparable to medical doctors. However, the difference is that Chiropractors receive more training in areas related to wellness (ex. nutrition, proper exercise and stress management). They are also trained to recognize when a health challenge requires medical attention.

2) Chiropractors are constantly aiming to educate and inspire the public on how to address certain health issues through healthy lifestyle choices. We have numerous workshops that we give regularly so be on the lookout for our exciting workshop events in the upcoming year.

3) Chiropractors focus on ensuring that the body’s own innate healing ability is working at it’s best to help you achieve the level of health you desire.

5) Lastly Chiropractors are usually more experienced in working with other wellness professionals from massage therapists to alternative medical providers to help in finding the right people to help you get the help you need.
