The Keys To Fighting Cardiovascular Disease Naturally

Tag: Heart Disease
Feb 5th, 2008

Fighting Cardiovascular Disease NaturallyCardiovascular disease is, by far the most expensive lifestyle related condition in America. According to theCenter of Disease Control, about 71 million Americans have some form of cardiovascular disease while 950,000 die from it every year. This amounts to one death every 35 seconds. In chiropractic circles, we always believe that the best defense against cardiovascular disease (or any disease for that matter) is by having a good offense. In other words, taking proactive strategies to control factors like blood pressure can provide a great offense to combat the battle against cardiovascular disease. Here are 3 drug-free ways to help keep your numbers down.

  1. Eat Omega-3s: Omega-3 oils found in foods like fish and flaxseed can lower the levels of blood fats, thus making your blood less viscous so the blood can flow easily. I would suggest that if you do choose to use fish oil supplements, make sure that the fish comes from either fresh water or the ocean vs. farm raised. Also you want to use certain types of fish like anchovy and sardine since these tend to be smaller fish that collect less toxins.
  2. Invest in a heart rate monitor: Exercise is naturally good for the heart, but doing proper aerobic activity through using a heart rate monitor will give you the best results in fighting blood pressure. Many people make the mistake of taking an aerobics class without using a heart rate monitor and end up doing exercise that is more anaerobic. This type of exercise ends up burning more of your sugar stores instead of burning the fat to lower cholesterol and fight heart disease.
  3. Get a Chiropractic adjustment: According to Natural Health magazine in October 2007, chiropractic adjustments to the atlas vertebrae (located at the base of the skull) actually lowered blood pressure as effectively as taking two blood pressure drugs at once suggests a recent University of Chicago Medical Center study of 50 people. I observed this is my own office when monitoring patients before and after an adjustment. Proper nerve flow to organs controlling blood pressure is crucial to keeping the body in balanced homeostasis.

Don’t let cardiovascular disease take its toll on your health. Utilizing these strategies could be the difference in saving your life and your pocketbook.Yours in Health,Dr. Richard Tran P.S. Are you interested in learning about a healing technique that:
