We now know that the human body is self healing by design. In this health tip we will take a look at how the body controls and coordinates the healing process. Fully understanding the depth of this process enables us to gain a greater appreciation of the extraordinary forces at work with the body’s natural healing potential.
Using the example of someone who has cut their finger, we can say with certainty that the body’s immune system will be at work to help fight off infection in the affected area. At the same time, the digestive system will work at assimilating essential nutrients to shape new cells and the endocrine system will be utilizing different organs ranging from the liver to the adrenals to ward off inflammation and keep the body functioning properly during the healing process. It is important to understand that although these processes may be occurring simultaneously within the body, the brain is continuously and accurately organizing messages to the various parts of the body to ensure that the healing process takes place with accuracy and ease.
Next week we will explore the various ways we can ensure that the brain is efficiently sending out accurate signals to the rest of the body.
