Celebrating Health through the Holidays

Tag: Attitude, Brain, Diet & Nutrition
Dec 16th, 2007

Snowflake-Holiday-HealthWith the holidays nearly upon us, we thought it would be fun to close off 2007 with 3 quick tips to end the year right.

1)    Celebrate:  You’ve worked hard through the year.  Although it’s good to evaluate where your challenges are, don’t dwell in them.  Instead spend more of your time to celebrate your victories and enjoy everything life has offered you so far.

2)   Control the holiday hunger:  Although it’s fun to celebrate by binging on sweets and overdrinking, the aftershock can literally be a headache to get over.

Special Note: If you do plan on celebrating this way, try and make it a point to cleanse your body for about 3 days after all the excess celebrating.  In an article by Jamison Starbuck, ND she suggest limiting your diet to fresh fruit, vegetables, nongluten whole grains like rice, millet, quinoa and two cups daily of dandelion root tea to correct any indigestion and constipation that may have settled from the holidays.  Also, make sure to keep an eye out for our next workshop in the New Year to help you detoxify after the holiday season.

3)   Stretch your brain:  Many people feel down and lethargic during the holidays.  Instead of sitting around, bounce back and give the brain a workout by attending: a public lecture, a good movie, a class or even a trip to the museum.  Here in San Diego, Balboa park is having a number of: concerts, poetry and art presentations, exhibitions (Dead Sea Scrolls exhibit), and even free admission to museums on Tuesdays.  Check out www.utstreet.com  for more details on what’s happening in San Diego during the holidays.

The holidays are a time to be thankful and grateful for what you have.  We wanted to thank you for making such a great contribution and we hope that we’ll be able to continue serving you in the coming year.

Happy Holidays From IHD !!!

Wishing You All a Healthy and Happy Holiday Season!
May the New Year Bring Lots of Wonderful Surprises!
